Celina Tolano is a licensed clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience providing services to children, adolescents and families. Celina received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University with a focus on direct practice and therapeutic intervention with children and families. Celina has experience working in various outpatient and community agency settings. Her areas of practice include a wide range of presenting concerns including mental health disorders, trauma, adoption, attachment and bonding, family transitions, grief and loss, behavioral challenges, physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect. Most recently, Celina worked as a therapist specializing in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health providing services to infant, toddler, and preschool age children with a history of trauma and/or behavioral challenges and developmental delays. She is nationally rostered as a Child Parent Psychotherapy Clinician and has experience providing court testimony regarding cases involving trauma.

Celina’s approach to therapy is strengths-based and systemic. She works collaboratively with the child and family in order to build upon internal strengths with less focus on weaknesses and shortcomings. Celina places strong emphasis on building a trusting therapeutic relationship in order to guide and empower you and your family to reach therapeutic goals. Celina recognizes the importance of tailoring treatment to meet the client’s needs. She utilizes evidenced based therapy modalities including Child Parent Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Therapy. By providing a playful, safe and nurturing environment, Celina aims to help children and families overcome barriers to move forward, grow and thrive.
