Dr. Alyssa Oland


Alyssa Oland, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist with 19 years of experience providing services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Dr. Oland received her doctorate degree from the University of Pittsburgh, completed her internship at Stanford Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, and completed her post-doctoral fellowship at USC/Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Oland has experience working in a range of settings, including intensive psychiatric programs, medical hospitals, medical clinics, and outpatient mental health clinics. 

Most recently, she worked at Children’s Hospital Colorado and at National Jewish Health (NJH) and held an associate professor position at NJH and the University of
Colorado-Denver. She is on the Colorado Psychological Association Ethics Committee and serves on the Colorado Psychological Association Executive Committee. She is also a member of the American Psychological Association and the National Register of Psychologists.

Dr. Oland has expertise treating a range of conditions and concerns, including difficulty coping with medical conditions, adherence issues with medical recommendations, difficulty adjusting to medical and/or psychiatric diagnoses, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief and loss, behavioral challenges in children, ADHD, parenting challenges and stress, co-parenting issues, transitioning from youth to
adulthood, academic and job stress, life stress, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, and trauma.

Dr. Oland also has experience conducting psychological testing for diagnostic clarification and treatment planning, such as assessing cognitive ability (IQ), ADHD, learning disorders, executive functioning disorders, and psychological issues that are affecting academic, behavioral, and/or social adjustment and functioning.
Dr. Oland uses a strengths-based patient-centered approach, integrating empirically supported interventions such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, behavior management, motivational interviewing, exposure response prevention, and functional family therapy. She also has experience with narrative therapy, play therapy, and humanistic approaches.
