PHILOSOPHY:
Dance for the Soul, Inc is founded on the belief that movement and play reflect an individual’s pattern of thinking and feeling. This holistic, body/mind approach incorporates a psychodynamic foundation to promote understanding and rehabilitation for those seeking change. As movement is a fundamental human activity, Dance for the Soul focuses on using movement as a vehicle for personal development. Through taking a creative body based approach, an individual is encouraged to engage with the therapeutic process to integrate and further their social, cognitive, emotional and physical aspects of themselves.
Shalee believes in establishing a safe and welcoming environment for optimum healing. Shalee’s approach is psychoanalytic with an emphasis on developing a positive relationship between therapist and client. Her personal style is honest and uses many aspects of the creative arts, such as drawing, dancing, role playing, and music to enhance ultimate expression of each individual. Shalee models hard work and consistency for lasting change in an individual's life.
SPECIALIZATION:
Dance for the Soul, Inc specializes in children, adolescents and adults who have endured single incident or ongoing trauma, abuse and neglect, and those suffering from emotional/behavorial difficulties. This may include difficult life transitions, divorce, anxiety or depression disorders, and self harming behaviors. We are now accepting Medicaid and Colorado Access insurances.

Shalee completed her Bachelor’s degree in Dance Education from Florida International University and her Master’s degree in Movement Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths College, University of London in United Kingdom.
