Our General Philosophy 

Lisa Scholz, LCSW, IMHS

Lisa is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Colorado. She has over 8 years experience providing assessment and psychotherapy services to toddlers, children and their families. Lisa’s clinical practice includes working with children who have experienced abuse, neglect, adoption, attachment difficulties, grief and loss, separation and divorce and traumatic experiences. She also works with adults to resolve issues related to childhood trauma.

Lisa’s therapeutic approach is relationship-based focusing not only on her relationship with the child, but also on the child’s relationship with his or her parents. She utilizes various therapeutic techniques in sessions based on the needs of the client. She has worked with families for the past several years in both home based and out-patient settings.

Lisa has provided educational trainings on the topics of domestic and international adoptions. She has also provided consultation to other professionals in the mental health field. Additionally, Lisa has been teaching infant massage to parents with children of various ages since 2001. She has also been teaching yoga to children since 2004.

Lisa received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Wayne State University in 1999. She completed a post graduate certificate in Infant Mental Health through the Merrill Palmer Institute in 2000. Lisa also holds certifications in Trauma and Loss in Children, Infant Massage and Yoga for Kids.

Lisa is a past board member of the Detroit Chapter for Infant Mental Health. She is a current member of the National Association of Social Workers.
